Community Groups

Do you feel you are living your Christian life by yourself? Do you go to church every week but not feel connected to the body of Christ? Do you wish you could experience more spiritual growth in a non-intimidating environment?

If any of those questions apply to you, then you want to join Community Groups. Community Groups is TCC's small-group ministry, where individuals like you gather together to discuss God's Word and experience life together.

Joining a Community Group is not a large commitment. Groups only meet once every other week. Groups meet at different times at different locations across the Springfield area. So no matter how busy or hectic your life may be, there is a group for you.

Use the links at the top to find out more information about Community Groups and to sign up today.

What are Community Groups?

Community Groups are small groups that meet regularly to build relationships, grow spiritually and have fun. Groups are available for adults of all ages, any stage of life or spiritual level and are generally grouped by age and geographical location with sermon based discussions.

Why should I be in a Community Group?

Community Groups allow people to develop friendships and build a stronger relationship with God. Participating in a Community Group will bring friends together and foster spiritual growth.

What kinds of Community Groups are there?

Community Groups are comprised of 6–8 couples or 12–16 individuals who will meet bi-weekly during the Spring & Fall months for 12 week sessions each year. Since we do not encourage “group-hopping”, these time-frames will allow you to begin to develop more intimate relationships with other TCC members.

When, where and how often do Community Groups meet?

TCC Community Groups meet bi-weekly on Sunday evenings at a host home for a 12 week session in the Spring & Fall months.

How long does each meeting last?

Each meeting lasts approximately an hour and a half to two hours.

How do I join a Community Group?

TCC has three ways to join a Community Group:

  1. Start a new group by applying to become a leader.
  2. Through a personal invitation from an existing Group leader.
  3. By submitting your information to join an existing Community Group.

Childcare Reimbursement Policy

  2. Childcare Reimbursement Forms are available through the Community Group leader or can be found here.
  3. Parents are reimbursed at a supplemental rate to aid in the cost of a babysitter. (See Reimbursement Form for rates)
  4. The church will reimburse childcare for children up to age 12.
  5. Individual forms are to be filled out after each group gathering by each family requesting reimbursement.
  6. All forms are to be signed by the Community Group leader the night of the incurred expense.
  7. Each form must be submitted within 30 days of the Community Group gathering in order to receive reimbursement.
